The Muse #8: New Phoenix (Wolfgang Amadeus) Remixes

Phoenix

After about a month on the road through Spain, Portugal and elsewhere, I was delighted to have Phoenix‘s latest endeavor, Wolfgang Amadeus, burning the flesh of my auditory canals since I returned to the States and jumped back into perpetual background music comfort.  Shortly thereafter, the the killer bee swarm of remixes surfaced and held ascendancy over the airwaves.  Dozens of supacool artists/remixers jumped all over this album and came out with some lavish new version 2.0s to accompany the originals.  Some favorites below, and pick up the album!

Major Lazer!!!!

DIPLO+SWITCH >>> MAJOR LAZER

Diplo+Switch… what can be said?  Morphing two musical maestros into one is bound to be completely absurd.  With the two varying in musical styles, it is interesting to see the outcome.  This track is killing it in my head all day.

1st of all, happy co-birthday to S. Jurist, proud mother of the best looking Frenchie this side of the Atlantic.

2nd of all, this cake feels representative of my life, and pays tribute to the Tom Selleck Stashio Bashio, which will be coming again this year in March.

I’m on a hot streak right now- I lost my wallet last night at Pinball Petes during a latenight Air Hockey challenge, and I was moments away from cancelling all of my credit cards, but I went back a few hours ago and discovered the little guy under the Xtreme Rafting machine.  I got really stoked on not having to go through the hassle of a lost wallet, and subsequently spent the next 2 hours playing Canadian Big Buck Hunter by myself… reminiscent of gaming and drinking brews at the shithole McSorleys (actually named Sophies) in the East Village.

Anyways, I’m keeping this short so I can get to entertaining Scurvvvyyyy Dayyyyy and all of those coming in from out of town tonight.

The Muse #1

In an attempt to instill a greater sense of structure and regularity on roubalot, I am starting a weekly posting dubbed The Muse, in which I will post up new songs/old songs/bangers/goodies/sounds that delighted me the prior week, and hopefully will ignite some sense of optimism in this world gone mad for you too!

This also serves as an abstract dedication to The Muse’s wisdom, which is unbounded and infinite.

That said, this is the inaugural post of the weekly installment, The Muse.
